Why Pledge

As the next generation of corporate leaders, you have a tremendous opportunity to ensure that you and the future companies you are a part of are advancing racial equity. It is with this in mind that we built Racial Equity Pledge; we know that top business schools source talent to the largest and most influential companies in the world. But this work of learning, acting, and becoming leaders for racial justice can’t wait until you finish school and start your job. It needs to start now.

This pledge is about preparing you now to lead in your future company to ensure that race will not determine the resources and opportunities available for an individual. Through engaging with the pledge, you can increase your leadership potential by learning how you can directly take action against racism in the workplace. You will learn how to think about, talk about, and advocate for racial equity within a cohort of other students. We believe that learning within a cohort structure is important for reflection, processing, and accountability.   

Each module includes training, action, and commitment, guided by a workbook action plan. After completing module one and pledging, students will receive a physical pin to wear during engagement with companies to spark dialogue and serve as a symbol of their commitment to be a force for change. They will also receive a certificate of completion for inclusion on their resume and LinkedIn profile. Completion of all modules prepares students in their life-long antiracism journey.
